Documentation of insects, nature and waters is a cornerstone of our fly fishinging hobby. We like do document what we do and where we fish. Here’s a selection of my You Tube Fly Tying and Fly Fishing Video posts. See the You Tube channel for a complete overview.
On our You Tube channel you’ll find regular fly fishing video, but also some fly tying and nature documentaries. During the 2017 season we have recorded hours of film that eventually will be edited into nice short films on fly fishing, insects nature and fly tying.
Most videos are in Norwegian, but all films posted after October 2017 will have English subtitles. Just choose subtitling from the You Tube media player. Users are welcome to subtitle all my films in other languages. If you want to go directly to my You Tube channel, just follow this link.

Synopsis
The Europea 12 is a classic caddis pattern. Popular i Scandinavia and fished whenever there are caddis on the water. I created this variant in a tying sessong where I promoted the CdC and Elk Pattern (Hans Weilenmann). Having been fascinated by that design, I thought: why not update the Europea 12 with some fancy CdC and wild floating barbules. Here’s finally the fly tying video. The pattern is also found on my fly tying pages under the name The Rivendale Caddis.

Synopsis
I love Bob Wyatt’s Deer Hair Emerger. It fishes well troughout the season and on most hatces. I have however made some small but important improvements to the wing structure, so that it lasts longer and floats better (simply by cutting through the comparadun hair with the silk)

Recording time
Jessheim, Norway – 6. December 2017
Synopsis
Actually I came up with this variant of a pretty standard mayfly emerger pattern a summer without much fishing luck. I made a few simple alterations to the choice of materials and whooops – the unfortunate first half of the season suddenly turned into fishing fortune and happieness.

Synopsis
Recorded during Ten Rivers Trip 2017 in the peak of what should have been a great fly fishing summer.
